Diamond Aircraft’s new prototype for maritime surveillance at Marrakech Airshow

The new grey DA42 MPP GUARDIAN with SAR Radom

Diamond proudly introduces a fully equipped maritime surveillance patrol aircraft to the African market at the Marrakech Airshow.

Equipped with a combination of a maritime radar, an EO/IR camera, an Automatic Identification System (AIS) and a data-link the well-known remote sensing platform DA42 MPP GUARDIAN is now also able to fly off-shore missions.

Diamond Airborne Sensing developed a special SAR Radom for the maritime radar, a pod that is mounted under the belly of the aircraft. Additionally this MPP will come in a completely new grey military look. Both will be further tested to receive certification soon.

This green and highly economic turnkey solution will allow maritime surveillance for e.g. illegal fishing, pirate activity, smuggling, at the lowest costs and fuel emissions.

The platform will be flown to the Marrakech Airshow and can be viewed on Diamond Airborne Sensing’s static display at pagoda P4.

Daily beyond line-of-sight live demonstrations
Diamond Airborne Sensing and SCOTTY Group Austria will be performing live demonstrations of their beyond line-of-sight surveillance capabilities.  Every day of the show visitors are invited to come to pagoda P4 where we will be making a connection over satellite to a DA42 MPP flying in Austria.  Learn how live beyond line-of-sight video and HD imagery enables commanders to virtually sit in the cockpit of the DA42 MPP - even when the aircraft is on long missions securing deep waters and long borders.
